About FCM
The Foundations for Counselling Ministry school (FCM) is a course offered by the University of the Nations’ (U of N) College of Counselling and Health Care. The U of N is dedicated to being a multiplier of missions and seeks to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission by equipping students spiritually, culturally, intellectually, and professionally.
Our vision is to introduce students to a Biblical counselling philosophy, imparting basic counselling skills, so that they can move from personal transformation into active involvement in bringing transformation to others. Our goal is to motivate, train, and release people to proclaim and model God’s glory and character.
The FCM is intended to provide the Biblical foundations upon which Christian counselling can be built. Our goal for students to establish foundations so that they can effectively:
- Reach the lost
- Minister to the individual, the family, and the community
- Understand “The Divine Plumbline”
- Understand the need for revelation as a key to change
- Have a core Biblical understanding for Christian counselling ministry
- Use core skills for counselling
- Have application to their own personal growth and daily lives
