Here in this certain country in Asia our ministry is mostly involved with refugees from the bordering country, a tribe. We started our outreach to go to a mountain village in the North. Since we can’t speak the tribe language, we went together with ten former local DTS-students. They helped us to talk with the people and we were able to pray for them, play with the children, encourage the local church, sharing testimonies, help with practical work and just listen to them. This week really helped us to get into the culture.

After our time in the village we went to a children’s hostel. Where it was over 20 kids who have their parents in the bordering country, but since it’s hard to get a good education for the tribe there, they come to the hostel to get good education. The children are between 8 and 16 years old. We came with the expectation of serving them, but God really surprised us and touched us with his spirit. We were so blessed and got so much from them! We had wonderful worship times with the kids, were we were ministering to each other. Both the children and us got pictures of them being children who will change the future of their country. And that we are all royals with God on our side and that we can walk with that authority! For us as team it was a reminder as well, we are empowered by God and we can go out with authority and with the power of God within us!

After some wonderful days at the children’s hostel, we went further North. There we were going to teach English for a week in a small school with ten students. On the way we had a fun cultural experience with the local line-car, which was filled with almost 30 people where there usually is place for around 10. The first day of teaching was challenging because the students were not used to white people and therefore they were very shy. But after some games and socialising the ice was broken. At the end of the week we noticed a difference in their English. The last day we blessed them with a guitar and they started to worship and sing right away.

We also helped an Organisation to pack some health packages to give over 900 children in the refugee camps nearby. In the help packages were practical things such as shampoo, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste and some more.
Right now we are back at the local YWAM-center preparing a reunion for the former local DTS-students, that we will have this weekend. The goal of this weekend is to encourage them to have Jesus in their daily life and to share the gospel in the refugees camp where they live. We hope that weekend will inspire them to know that they are royal children of God and they can walk in his strength.

Before we leave our certain country and go to the bordering country, we will visit a refugee camp nearby. Despite new cultural experiences and other challenges, we feel God’s presence in the midst of us.
We greet you with Deuteronomy 31:6, a verse which meant a lot for us as a team:

«Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid of them! The Lord your God will go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you. «

Be blessed!

We regulary hear from our 4 DTS teams on the mission field, and here is what one of the teams write:

PS: We have changed the names, so you will unfortunately not find your friends name here….

“…we must begin our tale from the past Sunday, the 15th of January: We pieced together a seminar for the local (…-)Church on evangelism. Every one (on the team) was surprised when our presentation was prolonged to a total of two hours, which we managed to accomplish without translation! We believe the presentation was well-received, or if it was not, they at least pretended to celebrate our work by stepping outside the church, (which is in the open – there are no walls), and knocking down some coconuts to refresh us.
Nichola used her God-given gifts of speaking to teens when we again visited the nearby high school to mentor the youth on four different occasions last week.

Her efforts, matched with the rest of our works through Christ, lead six girls receive our LORD, Christ Jesus, as their Savior! Wahoo! Despite the humidity and sweltering heat, our efforts were not in vain, and we rejoiced that the angels in Heaven were celebrating these girls´ decision!

Renate also enjoyed talking with a girl Martha Grace, who she had talked to before! This was such an encouragement to her, and Martha Grace was the one who initiated her friends´want to seek Christ, too! We are so thankful for Renate´s heart for this young lady, and new sister in Christ.
Merethe and Maria were our heroes on Wednesday when more than half of the team returned, yet again, to the school while simultaneously having the responsibility of planning a ladies´ Bible Study back at our residence. They executed this task flawlessly despite the pressure of finding the right notes and materials in a short amount of time. The topic: the Holy Spirit! And some received Him – we felt our efforts were (again) not in vain.
Our work here has been exhausting at times, but by God´s grace, our contacts John and Julie arranged for us to spend a day at (…) – a beautiful park covered in pools and waterfalls…”

DTS is progressing with leaps and bounds! We have now had 6 weeks of teaching, where the topics have been God’s Father heart, relationships, evangelism, prayer, worship and God’s character.

RISK

We have also been allowed to participate in the project RISK. We were with the rest of the DTS in Norway and we splitted up into teams that went out to all countries in Europe. The goal was to win Europe for Jesus again! We were allowed to do it through prayer, encouragingchurches and evangelism. And when we came back we had many interesting stories to tell about what God had done! From Skjærgårdsheimen we went to the countries Switzerland, Germany, Estonia, Netherlands, Norway and Denmark.

EVANGELISM

We received a visit from Vincent Esterman who shared his experience with evangelism. After some teaching, we were allowed to put it into practice! So the whole DTS, along with Multi Team, joined Vincent in the center of Kristiansand. There he took up his sketch board where he writes it in a creative way to catch people’s attention. Many were fascinated by what he was talking about. Everyone who was listening were invited to a meeting at NMS. Here, students shared testimonies, sang and showed drama. Vincent invited people to recieve Jesus, to people accepted Jesus again! It was a splendid evening!

18. to 20. November we got a visit from some great young people here at Flekkerøya. Together we got to know God better. Friday evening began with the get-to-know-eachother games that led to a lot of fun and laughter. Saturday began with a meeting followed by activities. We divided ourselves into groups and competed in various tasks. Our competitive nature was high and everyone wanted to win. Saturday night ended in a great worship night where we could express our worship to God in different ways. Sunday we had communion together and we heard many strong testimonies of what God has done in the lives of many of the students. It’s great to see so many young people together who want to explore and praise God for who he is. Thanks to all students who shared and helped to get the weekend to be so good.
